What is an End of Life Doula?
As an end-of-life doula, I am here to ease the transition for the dying person and their loved ones. End-of-life doulas are also known as death doulas, death midwives, death or dying coaches, death care advocates, and/or end-of-life specialists. No matter how you wish to label the person, the function is the same.

What is an End-of-Life (Death) Doula?
EOL Doulas are helpers who assist people while they are actively going through the dying process. While they do not provide medical services, they are there to offer comfort and support to the person who is dying, as well as their family. This can be a calming, uplifting presence in what is often- a chaotic, emotional and frightening time.
What Does An EOL Doula Do?
Doulas support and elevate the experience of dying by offering non-judgemental support and guidance. They work in tandem with other caregivers and members of the hospice team.
Doulas foster self-determination in their clients by assisting in the gathering of information and encouraging them to make informed choices that are right for them. For client needs outside the doula's scope of practice, the doula makes referrals to appropriate professionals and community resources.
I am also a funeral celebrant. Celebrants offer an alternative to clergy persons, who are typically obtained through a church. Not everyone goes to - or is affiliated with a church. Funerals and end-of-life ceremonies can be as individual as the persons they honor.

Client rates may vary depending on services required, travel to the client etc... Each client has specific needs and the rate will reflect that. I aim to make my services affordable.
